Design and Control of Small Power Standalone Solar PV Energy System

چکیده

This paper deals with the analysis, design and control of a small power standalone solar photovoltaic (SPV) generating system. A PV array of 33V-43.2V is taken as an input and its output voltage is achieved as 360V dc using a flyback converter. The battery is charged at this voltage and using a single-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) it is converted into a single phase ac of 220Vac, 50 Hz. A closed loop control for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and a PI (Proportional Integral) controller for output voltage control of VSI are used to optimize the system. Perturbation and observation method is applied for MPPT. The simulation of the developed model of the designed SPV system is performed in Matlab platform. Simulation results are presented with linear and nonlinear loads to demonstrate its satisfactory performance.
